1. Scope of Services

This project covers self-publishing services formatting only. The following are available as add-on services - all pricing information will be included in our email correspondence. The work I do includes formatting & publishing:

  • Softcover manuscripts

  • Hardcover manuscripts

  • Epub

 

Any additional items or services requested outside the agreed scope will be quoted separately. Where necessary, communication with the print house is included in this quotation.

2. Manuscript Requirements

The manuscript must be substantially complete and publication-ready upon submission.

Minor editorial corrections are limited to obvious typographical errors, inconsistent spacing, punctuation, and formatting inconsistencies identified during typesetting. Comprehensive copyediting, proofreading, rewriting, developmental editing, fact-checking, and substantive editorial review are not included.

Manuscripts requiring extensive editing, restructuring, formatting cleanup, footnote reconstruction, citation correction, or significant content revisions may be subject to additional fees.

Manuscripts exceeding 75,000 words and/or 250 pages may be subject to an additional fee.

The author must disclose the use of any AI-generated text, images, or translations included in the manuscript.

3. Revisions & Project Timeline

Once the FINAL VERSION has been approved, any author-requested revisions or alterations (including spelling, formatting, or content changes) will be billed at an additional hourly rate, with a one-hour minimum, at the designer's discretion.

  • The designer will always advise the client in advance if additional charges will apply.

  • If the client delays providing revisions, approvals, or required materials for more than 30 days, the project may be placed on hold. Resuming the project may require a revised completion timeline and/or a scheduling fee.

4. Payment & Delivery

  • A 50% deposit is required before work commences. Remaining balance is due once the book has been uploaded to KDP.

  • Payment options: BIT, PayBox, Direct Transfer, or Zelle.

  • If the project is cancelled after work has commenced, the deposit is non-refundable. If formatting has already been completed, payment for work performed will be required.

  • Clients will receive a print-ready PDF when requested. Editable source files are not included unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

  • Final files may contain a temporary watermark. The watermark will be removed once all outstanding balances have been paid in full.

 

5. Ownership & Intellectual Property

  • All design rights transfer to the client upon full payment, excluding the designer's right to display the completed work for portfolio and promotional purposes.

  • The client warrants that they own or have permission to publish all text, images, illustrations, fonts, and other materials supplied for publication.

  • The designer assumes no responsibility for copyright infringement or intellectual property claims arising from materials supplied by the client.

  • The designer will only use fonts that are appropriately licensed for commercial publication. The client is responsible for supplying licenses for any proprietary fonts they request.

 

6. Amazon KDP Responsibilities

The author retains full responsibility for Amazon KDP account setup, tax information, banking information, royalty payments, and compliance with Amazon's publishing policies.

7. Quality & Liability

  • The designer is not responsible for spelling, grammatical, halachic, medical, factual, or other content errors contained within the manuscript.

  • The client is responsible for maintaining backup copies of all manuscript files. The designer is not responsible for data loss.

  • Images supplied below recommended print quality (generally 300 dpi at final size) may produce poor print results. The designer is not responsible for the quality of client-supplied images.

 

8. Event-Specific Designs

If this project includes artwork customized for a specific event, date, or time, future versions, updates, or related products will be quoted separately as new projects.

 

By replying "I AGREE" to the accompanying quote email, the client agrees to the scope, price, and conditions outlined in both the quote and these Terms & Conditions. Work will commence upon receipt of the 50% deposit.
