You have a great product.....and you want to sell it online - but how? There are many steps to launch a site (and then many more to make it sell)....so let's start from scratch.
What's your address? You have a great product....time to PURCHASE a domain!! Make sure it's easy to remember and tells a bit about your product. Even if you're timeline is in the distant future for launching, make sure that your desired domain is available.
Scope out the competition. Your product is amazing, right! Do you have any competition out there? What are they doing well, what are they doing poorly - now's the time to see how YOU can find your niche
Who's your target audience? Draw for yourself your ideal customer. Give them a name and assign them characteristics. Where do they shop? What do they do in their free time? What online marketplaces do they spend their money? What social media outlets appeal to them.
Tell me a story. Now's the time to really "sell" me the product. Is it interesting? Are you an interesting person. The quality of your story, the way that YOU (and your product) are able to differentiate themselves from the herd is what will make you unique.
Create a Marketing Plan. What channels are you going to use? Do you plan on advertising? What's your budget? Align your marketing plan with your target audience's shopping and browsing habits. Don't put "all your eggs in one basket". Think of marketing as a ladder - you know the goal - but there are many rungs along the way to get there.
Design your website. Now's the time to start taking those high quality pictures and videos! Remember who your target audience is and make sure the media (and your message) is directed at them!
